![]() This is extracted from the ratio of the number of events in which the probe muon orginates from the process W → τ ν τ → μ ν μ ν τ ν τ, referred to as μ τ(→ μ), to those that come from the process W → μ ν μ, referred to as μ prompt. This sample is used to test the origin of the probe muons and extract the measurement of R( τ/ μ). The targeted signature consists of three.
